A term used in grammar, which signifies more than one. Sometimes, however, it may be so expressed that it means only one, as, if a man were to devise to another all he was worth, if he, the testator, died without children, and he died leaving one child, the devise would not take effect.
- adj. Relating to, or containing, more than one; designating two or more; as, a plural word. Plural number (Gram.), the number which designates more than one. See Number, n.
- n. (Gram.) The plural number; that form of a word which expresses or denotes more than one; a word in the plural form.
