A voluntary declaration of an intent or purpose to renounce or cast aside an invention which is inconsistent with the right to obtain patent protection. Such a declaration may be shown by conduct. See Electric Storage Battery Co. v Shimadzu, 307 US 5. If an inventory applies for a patent and then accepts a decision rejecting her application, and abandons her invention because it no longer has any value, this act makes it forever public property. See Consolidated Fruit Jar Co. v Bellaire Stamping Co. 27 F 337, 381.
