Latin. This is a Latin term meaning from the beginning. It is used most often in relation to contractual issues or contract related type situations where the contract, document, or statute is effective from and relates back to its inception or creation. A party may have their status changed by an abuse of authority, license, or permission and as such their status would also change from the initial valid entry. When the wrong act is committed that wrong act relates back to their original entry and the possible consent that was given. Void ab initio is void from the beginning.
